How to book your appointment

Dr Fleming is available for consultation on Thursdays or Fridays, depending on the week. Hand and Nerve Day Surgery is located at:

Surgical procedures are performed at Ramsay Hillcrest Hospital, where he has admitting and procedural privileges. Dr Fleming also cares for patients from the Mater Urgent Care Centre. On occasion, he may be required to perform emergency surgery on a day that is usually reserved for consultations. If this affects your appointment, you will be contacted as soon as possible and an alternative appointment time offered.

How to prepare for your appointment

Please aim to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. 

A valid referral and Australian Medicare card is required to receive Medicare rebates for your consultation and additional testing where applicable. A referral from your GP lasts for 12 months unless otherwise specified, or for three months from another medical specialist. 

It will also be useful to have the following ready for your initial consultation:

First-time consultations are allocated 15-20 minutes, however, please allow for up to half an hour in case of unforeseen circumstances requiring prolonged attention. 

If you are having a day procedure with Dr Fleming, specific pre-operative instructions will be provided before your hospital appointment. 


Fees

Hand and Nerve Day Surgery is a private orthopaedic practice, with consultation and surgery fees aligned with the quality of care provided by Dr Fleming.

All fees are payable on the day of your consultation or procedure. Medicare rebates will be applied on the spot; payment is required in full for Workcover or TAC patients, and a receipt provided to support your reimbursement.  

Payment is accepted via cash, VISA, Mastercard, and AMEX.


Cancelling or rescheduling your appointment 

If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please contact Dr Fleming’s rooms at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow this time slot to be offered to another patient. Failure to give sufficient notice, or non-attendance, may incur a penalty fee.
